Kookaburra

I had the feeling, as I was working out in the backyard, that someone was watching me. This little guy just sat on the fence looking, so I raced inside to get the camera before he decided to move on. Sharing with Wild Bird Wednesday http://paying-ready-attention-gallery.blogspot.com.au/

    Great photo of the kookaburra on the fence. They come into my yard rather infrequently - and the other birds chase them off very quickly!
    I've just been looking at your pics of NZ.
    Beautiful - especially Lake Wanaka! I was there late Feb.-March last year and loved it all!

      Thanks for visiting my blog Mick, usually with the kookaburras we just hear them from the trees but this one was a real sticky beak. We were in NZ last April/May, I still have oodles of photos to post here. Cheers

    I love Kookaburras! We were just entertained by a Kookaburra education bird at our local Audubon meeting last night! They are so cool!!

    When I was young we used to sing about the Kookaburra sitting in the tree.
    They are a cute little bird. I rather like his oversized head. :)

      I remember that song too Carletta, Kookaburra sit in the old gum tree, I can't remember all of it though.
